Keynote Speaker: Overview of gaming in Missouri

A look at the gaming industry, its positives (tax revenue, capital improvements and community support) and its negatives (compulsive gamblers, increased welfare rolls) and a means in the future of measuring the net effect on society of a growing industry which if properly regulated is clean and competes for the entertainment dollar. |

As part of the discussion of recent developments, New Jersey Deputy Attorney General Dorothy Turi will present a public awareness video relating to Internet and Underage gambling. |

Rick will discuss some of the innovative investigations Washington State has recently completed and Mike will discuss some of the investigations with a Federal perspective. National Indian gaming Commission Chair Phil Hogen and Commissioner Norm DesRosiers will present an overview of NIGC's role in Indian gaming, Class II and Class III activities. They will be joined by National Tribal gaming Commissioners\Regulators' President and Cherokee Nation gaming Commission's Jamie Hummingbird who will present the view from Indian Country.

Busting the Myths
Speakers: Dave Grift, Addictions Foundation of Manitoba and Elizabeth Stephenson, Manitoba gaming Control Commission
An in-depth look at the responsible gambling education program provided by the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba at the Responsible gaming Information Centres located in two Manitoba casinos. The Manitoba program is designed to assist players in making informed decisions when gambling and to "bust" some of the prevailing myths to notably "the longer I play, the better my chances of winning." This session will provide an interactive demonstration of the tools and methodology used to explain the concepts of randomness and house advantage in casino games as well as the inner workings of a slot machine to lay people. It will also include a look at the Manitoba gaming Control Commission's award winning public education campaign. |

Theraputic Justice

Sue McNabb, former Louisiana Assistant Attorney General will present a thought provoking discussion of an alternative to the Criminal Justice System for lawbreakers with a gambling addiction. Kevin Mullallay in his role as a member of the NCRP Board of Directors will give a brief update of that organization's role in Responsible gaming. |

The Task Force is an informal group of federal, state, and Canadian agencies working to reduce illegal Internet gambling through a coordinated sharing of resources, enforcement, and education. The IGTF was formed in 2005, includes about 15 agencies and 50 individuals, and meets twice a year. NAGRA invited the IGTF to meet in conjunction with NAGRA for one of those meetings. This session is closed and the agenda will be the distributed to member agencies. |

Texas Hold 'em Poker Update

This session is being offered as an "update" from the last conference and will provide some of the interesting developments in North America regarding Texas Hold 'em Poker. Several jurisdictions are now licensing charities to conduct Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournaments and they will share some interesting statistics and information regarding the established standards and regulatory requirements. |

River Boat Casino Gambling Investigations

This session will keep the audience entertained with some of the latest gambling investigations conducted by the Missouri Gaming Commission. Missouri Highway Patrol Troopers Logan and Kinsey will discuss some cases involving a scheme to launder bank robbery proceeds through the casino, a craps cheating scam, and other interesting cases. |

This is NAGRA's Annual General Meeting. There will be a discussion of our past year's achievements and future plans, reports from the Treasurer, Committee Chairs, and management firm, as well as the election results. NAGRA is a member-driven organization and your participation is necessary to ensure its long-term viability. Please note, this session is open to members (regulators) only.
