Welcome to Washington, DC! - from President Jim Haynes
NAGRA will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2009, and what better place to embrace the challenges of the next 25 years than the current hub of exciting changes itself – Washington, DC!
Steeped in history, rich in the arts, museums, and culture, bubbling with politics, and exquisitely beautiful, Washington, DC is a signature city and a symbol of the United States of America to those around the world.
The Washington, DC 2009 NAGRA Conference, June 2 – 5, will cover many current and pressing issues that are sure to be of interest to auditors, investigators, policy makers, and other administrative staff in the gaming arena. We have made a special effort to offer a diverse agenda – advancements in gaming technology, the revitalization of bingo, and current Indian gaming matters will all be covered and, for the first time, we will have multiple sessions relating to the regulation of State operated lotteries. The recently adopted Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act rules and other internet gambling issues will be the focus of two sessions.
If this isn’t enough to entice you to join us, consider this value-added feature: Casino Fraud Training conducted by Craig Greene, CPA, CFE, MCI on Monday, June 1. This training qualifies for 8 CFE hours. Mr. Greene’s expertise and experiences made his 2008 seminar an overwhelming success in New Orleans.
To top off our exciting week, we will close the conference with an elegant evening reception at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Museum. The DAR is located in Memorial Continental Hall, a marble building that fronts 17th Street. It was designed in the Neoclassical Revival or Beaux-Arts style by Edward Pierce Casey. This National Historic Landmark was completed in 1910 and is the oldest of three buildings that make up the NSDAR complex. Special docent-led tours will also be available for NAGRA attendees.
We promise you, this will be a very rewarding conference and one you won’t soon forget. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Internet Gaming Task Force will be meeting in conjunction with NAGRA and offering insight into the Internet Gaming world. In addition, there will be a pre-conference training session on casino fraud.
Pre-Conference Training Session:
Casino Fraud - Monday, June 1, 2009: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Presented by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
Headlines such as “A Failing Economy”, “Casino Gaming Revenues Down”, and “Job Cuts and Layoffs at Casinos” fill our newspapers daily. The consensus is that employee fraud is on the rise as a result — and crimes of opportunity abound in the back of the house of most casinos. In this information packed session, gaming audit instructor and white collar criminologist, Craig L. Greene, CPA, CFE, MCJ, guides you through the more common employee frauds in the casino industry. Greene, a seasoned fraud buster, will discuss methods of investigating these crimes and preventative measures to deter them. Don’t miss this important and thought provoking session. Qualifies for 8 CPE hours.
Pre-Conference Training Fees: $75 if paying full conference fee, $150 for Training Session only.
